This high-intensity sport is very popular in Europe, and has become an adventure pastime in Turrialba as well. Canyoneering, or canyoning as it is known in Europe, is descending down narrow, river canyons by sliding, jumping, rappelling, or swimming. Our canyoneering tour is conducted in a private, secondary-forest reserve just fifteen minutes from the center of Turrialba.
The tour includes four waterfall descents, four canopy cables, a rappel down a large tree, and several hanging-bridge traverses. The trip takes three to four hours and the guides offer snacks halfway through.
What to bring? Athletic clothing, shoes that you don’t mind wearing while wet, and insect repellent. You should also bring extra clothes to change into afterwards and a towel to dry off with.
What is included? Transportation, snack, specialized equipment and bilingual guide (Spanish and English).
This tour is recommended for adults and children over eight years of age.
